As women across the country cast their ballots in what could be a historic election, many are thinking of—and honoring—the suffragists who fought for their right to vote.
Some are wearing white to vote in honor of the women who protested until the 19th Amendment was passed—and the women who ran afterward in an attempt to shatter political glass ceilings. (If you’re wearing white to vote, tweet us photos!)
Hundreds, in addition, have made the trek to Mount Hope Cemetery in Rochester, New York, to pay homage to the “Susan B. Anthony Amendment” by visiting the suffrage icon’s grave—and covering it in their “I Voted” stickers. And tens of thousands are tuning in.
