This year’s Emmy Awards championed diversity in a way no prior ceremony has. Distinction was given to people of color, LGBTQ individuals and most especially women, who dominated the ceremony in a revolutionary fashion. Women garnered groundbreaking wins, and female-driven content made its way to the forefront. Women swept the show, amassing a multitude of honors and finally putting to bed any lingering inquiries as to whether or not women are worthy of representation and recognition in the industry. (Spoiler Alert: They Are.)
