“Sad Day for Women’s Rights”: Poland Court Rules a Near-Total Ban on Abortion
The highest court in Poland ruled that obtaining abortions for fetal abnormalities violates the Polish Constitution, thus tightening abortion restrictions in one of the strictest countries on abortion in Europe.
The Council of Europe’s Commissioner for Human Rights, Dunja Mijatovic, called Thursday a “sad day for women’s rights.”
