Supporting Global Access to Birth Control

Hey y’all, if you support Planned Parenthood, access to birth control, the pursuit of a healthy and fulfilled life or Friday Night Lights, you will love this new video campaign (narrated by Connie Britton, who played Tami Taylor in the beloved football drama series) from Planned Parenthood Global:

“Health Has No Borders” is a simple but powerful and much-needed reminder to rights advocates everywhere that what happens in the U.S. matters for women (and men) worldwide. The President recently released his proposed 2012 budget–which, wonderfully, included bumps for family planning funding in the U.S. and globally. But Congress gets to decide if this is a go, and can make or break access to birth control and other critical health services for women in some of the poorest and toughest parts of the world.

While we’re fighting tooth and nail for our own rights to accessible and affordable birth control here in the U.S., let’s remember that that fight is global too. So watch the vid, get informed about U.S. support for global birth control access, and on this International Women’s Day recognize that you can use your power as a voter on behalf of women everywhere!
