Abortion Access: Terrible in Pretty Much Every Super Tuesday State

How hard is it to get an abortion in the 12 Super Tuesday states? According to a must-watch new video from Lady Parts Justice, a group founded by The Daily Show co-creator Lizz Winstead, restrictive laws make it nearly impossible to access care in the majority of states holding primaries or caucuses today.

In Alaska—which is twice the size of Texas—there are no abortion providers in 90 percent of the state’s counties. The numbers are even worse in Oklahoma, where 96 percent of counties lack a provider. Oh and we can’t forget Arkansas, where doctors must tell patients that medication abortion (using pills) is a reversible procedure. Yeah. That happens.

It’s not all bad news, though: Abortion laws in Vermont and Massachusetts are far less restrictive, so women have much more comprehensive access to care. Phew!
