Join Ms. at the West Hollywood Women’s Equality Day Celebration!

Ms. and the Feminist Majority Foundation are excited to be partnering with other feminist groups and the City of West Hollywood to ring in Women’s Equality Day later this month with a free community event—and you should come out and join us!

Women’s Equality Day is the anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote. This year, we’ll be coming together with fellow feminists from California Women’s Law Center, National Council of Jewish Women Los Angeles, June L. Mazer Lesbian Archives, Hollywood NOW, Women in Film Los Angeles, Planned Parenthood Los Angeles, California NOW, Women’s Intercultural Network and the Iranian Circle of Women’s Intercultural Network for an event co-sponsored by the City of West Hollywood, West Hollywood Women’s Advisory Board and the National Women’s History Project and jam-packed with empowering goodness in commemoration of the occasion—and you should be there!

The West Hollywood Women’s Equality Day Celebration will include a screening of the short documentary film Inez Milholland – Forward into Light, which tells the suffrage icon’s story; a panel discussion featuring Martha Wheelock, Zoe Nicholson and Amy Walker; a special performance; a silent auction and raffle prizes; a reception and even a Voter Registration and Education Pop-Up.

Attendance to the event is free, but attendees should RSVP here or by reaching out via phone to 323-848-6413 or by email to whwedrsvp@gmail.com. The event runs from 6 – 8:30 p.m. on Friday, August 26 and takes place at the West Hollywood City Council Chambers at 625 N. San Vicente Blvd.
