Utilizing her own experiences as a woman of color who grew up in a low-income family and faced homelessness and hunger, Mason’s book shines a light on the systemic barriers that face marginalized communities attempting to share in the American dream.
Mason’s “insider story” is an important addition to the feminist discourse. That’s why Ms. is excited to be partnering with the Library Foundation of Los Angeles’ ALOUD program to host a conversation between Mason and our very own Education Director and Editor Karon Jolna that will cover topics like poverty, the future of feminism and how women’s stories can fuel progress.
