Dr. Meghna Bhat is a proud first-generation immigrant from India who has lived in the U.S. for the past 15 years. She received her Ph.D. in Criminology, Law and Justice from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a specialization in Gender and Women Studies, and her dissertation explored images of violence against women in Bollywood Indian cinema and its implications for the Indian diaspora in the United States.
