Patricia Trimble is a transgender feminist, activist, and advocate for the incarcerated LGBTQ+ community. She has spent over four decades of her life in Missouri's Prison System, with her first adult incarceration at 17 and her first juvenile incarceration at age eight. Currently, Ms. Trimble lobbies Missouri legislators and prison administrators for changes to end mandatory minimum sentences and institute meaningful programs for the rehabilitation of LGBTQ+ prisoners.

Coming out as my authentic self while in a violent maximum security prison for men was my only option.

I witnessed the worst misogynistic actions and attitudes of my fellow prisoners, but none of that mattered, because Patricia had to be set free to experience true freedom for the first time in her life.
