Shariah Sanders is a full-spectrum doula, herbalist, birth assistant and midwifery student working at the intersections of ancestral wisdom, reproductive justice and public health. She is a fierce advocate for culturally congruent, community-based care and a passionate believer in the power of homebirth to restore dignity and autonomy to Black birthing people. Sanders serves as the community coordinator for the Black Midwifery Collective, a growing coalition of Black midwives, birthworkers, educators and advocates, and as a birth assistant with Chicago Home Birth Midwife. Her work is rooted in healing, legacy and structural change—rebuilding the birth landscape one family, one policy and one tradition at a time.
