Renee Chanon is a former president of the League of Women Voters of Los Angeles and served on the League of Women Voters of California State Board. She also served for 10 years as a member of the Ballot Simplification Committee for the City of Los Angeles, was appointed by Mayor Bradley to the Downtown Strategic Plan Advisory Committee and has served on a variety of other nonprofit boards, including the National Women's History Project. Renee is currently a member of the board of the League of Women Voters of Los Angeles Education Fund.
