The union movement gives women choice, autonomy, financial stability and the ability to take care of ourselves. These are the cornerstones of building true equality in any society.
I march because as I grapple with the profound implications the rise of anti-choice politicians at the state and federal level will have on my community, I want to send a message that is loud and clear: We are not defeated and we are not going anywhere.
These things can no longer go on—not in Idaho, not in the United States, not anywhere in the world. This march is only the first step towards unifying our communities to create change from the grassroots level up.
The Feminist Majority Foundation, publisher of Ms., has partnered with organizers in Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and San Francisco and will be assembling a feminist delegation for each city’s Women’s March.
