They already came for abortion. Now they’re coming after your contraception. Learn to take charge of your own reproductive healthcare and make decisions to protect your bodily autonomy.
On Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2022, at 4 p.m. PT / 7 p.m. ET, learn everything you ever wanted to know about birth control, including things your doctor might not even know. RSVP for the free event here. (Can’t attend the event in person? RSVP anyway and we will be sure to send you a recording.)
The conversation will feature Dr. Sophia Yen, CEO and co-founder of Pandia Health, the only women-founded and women-led birth control delivery and telemedicine company. In the talk, Yen will outline everything she thinks we need to know about birth control, emergency contraception, periods, abortions pills and more. You’ll learn:
- the most effective emergency contraception options (who know that inserting a copper IUD after unprotected sex could prevent pregnancy better than Plan B?)
- the importance of knowing really who is prescribing your birth control—what are their motives and their background?
- how to skip your period altogether
- the importance of having abortion pills in your medicine cabinet for a rainy day
… and more.
This event is back by popular demand! After our first talk with Dr. Yen, attendees raved, calling the content “excellent,” “outstanding,” “educational and engaging.” “My adult daughter and I learned a lot,” a reader emailed me.
In addition to her role at Pandia, Yen is a board-certified expert in adolescent medicine with 20+ years of experience. She graduated from MIT, UCSF Medical School and UC Berkeley with a MPH in maternal child health. She serves as a clinical associate professor at Stanford Medical School in the department of pediatrics. She co-founded Pandia Health because she believes no one should suffer from “pill anxiety”—the fear of running out of birth control and the stress of having to obtain birth control each month. Her latest health campaign is to educate the public about #PeriodsOptional.
Yen’s talk will be moderated by Roxy Szal, digital editor at Ms. and a producer on the Ms. podcast On the Issues With Michele Goodwin.

U.S. democracy is at a dangerous inflection point—from the demise of abortion rights, to a lack of pay equity and parental leave, to skyrocketing maternal mortality, and attacks on trans health. Left unchecked, these crises will lead to wider gaps in political participation and representation.
