Ms. Magazine names their Top Feminists of 2020

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | January 15, 2021

Ms. Magazine, a legacy feminist publication, has named their Top Feminists of 2020. From those who dedicated themselves to voter mobilization to leaders in the field of reproductive justice, from politicians to pop stars, Ms. editors selected 25 feminists who, despite the many obstacles of the past year, made a significant impact in the ongoing fight for equality.

The list includes Stacey Abrams; “Those Women from Michigan”: Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and Attorney General Dana Nessel; LaTosha Brown of Black Voters Matter; Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris; Speaker Nancy Pelosi; Dr. Kizzmekia Corbett, for her critical role in the development of the COVID-19 vaccine; Nasrin Sotoudeh, a human rights lawyer in Iran sentenced to 38 years in prison for representing women for not wearing hijabs; among others. The list also honors the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in memoriam. See the full list here.
