How could we not love Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., for her candid speech on the Senate floor yesterday about the government shutdown? The senator put a verbal smack-down on continued attempts to cut women’s access to birth control through assaults on the Affordable Care Act, even at the expense of our government and economy.
She spoke passionately on behalf of both maintaining a functioning government and a woman’s right to reproductive health care.
I have a daughter and I have granddaughters and I will never vote to let a group of backward-looking ideologues cut women’s access to birth control. We have lived in that world, and we are not going back, not ever.
You said it, Senator!
