Today in Texas, abortion has been outlawed for the vast majority of women and girls. And in a few short months, the Supreme Court is likely to rule in a case that is a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade and will impact abortion access nationwide.

On Thursday, October 21, advocates testified before the House Oversight & Reform Committee on the Equal Rights Amendment.
During the hearing, members of Congress and ERA advocates outlined the need for the ERA and detailed how it has met the amending process requirements, as outlined in Article V of the Constitution, and therefore should be immediately added as the 28th Amendment. They testified on the dramatic impacts the amendment would have on women, people of color and the trans community, and how the proposed amendment could help shore up gaps in abortion access.
Feminist Leaders Implore Biden-Harris Administration: Don’t Abandon Afghan Women and Girls
In a letter signed by almost 100 signatories, feminist leaders and advocates are urging the Biden-Harris administration “not to agree to a deal that includes recognition and support of a Taliban regime” and that “any deal by the United States that would include recognition and support of the Taliban regime would be a reversal of U.S. commitments that were made …” and would undermine the administration’s commitments to human rights globally.
