From the Stacks: Paper Bags Required

If you thought we had it bad with today’s advertising, check out this atrocity that was reprinted in the December 1973 No Comment section of Ms.

“You’ll have to wear a paper bag over your head, but hey, at least you get to decorate it however you want!”

Comments

  1. And how exactly did this sharpen anyone’s knowledge of modern architecture?

  2. “…will be selected from the cream of Tulsa’s young femininity to represent those qualities most desirable in home decoration.”

While I assume they mean that the women will be selected so they can point to the architecture on display at the home show, it also seems like the judges will be picking the woman who you would most like to decorate your home (i.e. be quiet, pretty, and void of anima).

  3. don’t forget the bikinis! the only way to make it easy for men to judge women is to make them wear bikinis with bags over their heads.
