Feminist Art Meets Activism at Carole Richard Kaufmann’s NYC Studio Sale: May 31 and June 1

Join Ms. for a vibrant weekend celebrating feminist art, journalism, activism and community at Carole Richard Kaufmann’s New York City studio.

Join us at the studio of artist Carole Richard Kaufmann for a special feminist art sale, with proceeds supporting Ms. magazine. The fundraiser will take place at 315 W 39th Street, Studio 600, New York, N.Y., on Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, June 1, from noon to 5 p.m. each day.

An outstanding artist, committed feminist and loyal life-long reader of Ms.—which has been the basis of some of her powerful collages—Kaufmann is now selling select pieces from her collection as she downsizes her studio.

Kaufmann attended the Rhode Island School of Design and Fashion Institute of Technology in an era when women were expected to disappear into marriage and motherhood. She managed to fuel her artistic flair and thrive as a creator whose work has been showcased in the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C., and who participated in the women’s caucus in Beijing.

Since 1972, she has worked and shown from her New York City studio. She uses oil, gouache, pencil and transfer mediums, often using Chinese paints and collage materials.

We are thrilled for this partnership—and look forward to seeing you at this celebration of art and feminism!
